The bridge is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest bridge in the world on water Bridge is an absolute unit of engineering which is supported by 9,500 concrete pilings. The idea of the bridge was initiated in the 9th century and Bernard de Marigny was believed to be the founder of the Mandeville.

Manchac Swamp Bridge is the second largest bridge in the USA that spans for 23 miles. The bridge is connecting Interstate 55 and U.S. Route 51 over the Manchac Swamp in Louisiana. There is also a claim that it is the longest toll-free road bridge in the world that was opened in 1979 constructed with a cost of $7 million per mile to complete.

Atchafalaya Basin Bridge which is also known as the Louisiana Airborne Memorial Bridge is again a pair of parallel bridges situated between the U.S. state of Louisiana between Baton Rouge and Lafayette which carries Interstate 10 over the Atchafalaya Basin. With a length of 18 miles, it is one of the longest bridges in the USA and second-longest on the interstate system. It was opened for the public in the year 1973, however, construction was started in the year 1971. During 1973, it was the longest bridge in the USA and has two exits one from Whiskey Bay (Louisiana Highway 975) and another for Butte La Rose (LA 3177).

One of the longest bridges in the USA with an estimated length of 17.6-miles, Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is the connecting point between the Chesapeake Bay, the Hampton Roads harbour, and nearby mouths of the James and Elizabeth Rivers in the U.S. state of Virginia. The bridge and the tunnel is the combination of trestle, tunnels, four artificial islands, four high-level bridges, causeway and northeast and southwest approach roads crossing the Chesapeake Bay. I-10 Bonnet Carré Spillway Bridge is popular as a twin concrete trestle bridge in the USA located in the state of Louisiana. With a total length of 11 miles, it is one of the longest bridges in the USA and in the world. The bridge is connecting Interstate 10 through the Bonnet Carré Spillway, Lake Pontchartrain, and LaBranche Wetlands in the St. Charles Parish along with a portion of St. John the Baptist and Jefferson Parishes. It was opened for the public in the year 1972.

San Mateo–Hayward Bridge, California which is also known as the San Mateo Bridge is one of the longest bridges in the USA with a length of 7 miles. The bridges cross the American state of California’s San Francisco Bay by linking the San Francisco Peninsula with the East Bay. The eastern part of the bridge is in Hayward and it is also listed as the longest bridges in California. Currently, it is owned by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the state highway agency and further controlled by the Bay Area Toll Authority (BATA).

7. Seven Mile Bridge, Florida (6.7 miles)

Seven Mile Bridge connects Marathon and Florida to the Little Duck Key which is an island in the Lower Keys. It exists in two bridge format where the new one is open to vehicles and traffic while the older one is open only to cyclists and pedestrians. The older was known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge and constructed from 1909 to 1912 under the supervision of the direction of Henry Flagler and Clarence S. Coe who are the part of the Florida East Coast Railway’s Key West Extension known as the Overseas Railroad.

8. General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge, Alabama (6 miles)

General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge also is known as the Dolly Parton Bridge because of its arches and red warning lights atop them. The bridge was built from 1978 to 1980 and spans for the distance of 6 miles making it one of the longest bridges in the USA. It was named in the honor of Walter K. Wilson, a Chief of Engineers with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and long-term resident of Mobile. He was the one who asked for the high-level bridge on Interstate 65 over the Mobile River that would not impede waterway development.

9. Frank Davis “Naturally N’Awlins” Memorial Bridge, Louisiana (5.4 miles)

Also known as I-10 Twin Span Bridge that consists of two parallel trestle bridges. In August 2014, the bridge was officially named in the honor of ‘’Frank Joseph Davis’’ who has a habit of fishing near the bridge. The parallel bridge system connects the eastern end of Lake Pontchartrain in southern Louisiana from New Orleans to Slidell.

10. Richmond–San Rafael Bridge (5.49 miles)

Richmond–San Rafael Bridge officially known as the John F. McCarthy Memorial Bridge connects northernmost of the east-west crossings of the San Francisco Bay in California, USA. The bridge was named after California State Senator John F. McCarthy and was opened to the public in 1956. It replaced the ferry service by the Richmond–San Rafael Ferry Company.
